Securely add up to four beneficiaries per account

When there is only one beneficiary, the asset allocation will automatically be set to 100%. Therefore the "Adjust Allocation” button will be removed until there is second beneficiary.
Once four beneficiaries has been added, the “Add Beneficiary” button will be removed until a beneficiary is removed from the account.
While we work towards an unlimited quantity of beneficiaries, we must limit our clients to four beneficiaries at this time.

Additional customization with trusts

To accommodate multiple types of beneficiaries, an option was included to designate a beneficiary as a trust. When this feature is toggled on, fields appear to capture appropriate information to secure the client’s trust.

Easily adjust allocation for beneficiaries

Our clients need to be able to adjust their allocations whenever necessary. Asset Allocation is accessible during a new beneficiary process or to existing beneficiaries, therefore our clients are aware of their assets and are keeping information up to date. The colors are assigned to each beneficiary and are displayed on the graph depending on the percentage. This data visualization provides a quantitative hierarchy that is dependent on asset allocation per beneficiary and elevates a simple experience.

When adding a new beneficiary, you must include their asset allocation

Clients can always adjust allocation across all beneficiaries at any time.

Access to beneficiary profiles any time

We allow our clients to update their beneficiary profiles whenever necessary.

If our clients desire to remove a beneficiary from their account, they can easily remove it themselves, and we include an additional warning to avoid accidental deletion.

This version of the beneficiaries feature was placed on backlog due to the amount of effort it would take for developers to build. To prioritize time, I had to remove the data visualization components and keep the basic structure and flow for implementation. My favorite part of this experience was finally incorporating data visualization into my designs. Adding the percentage bar into the allocation part of the process adds a visually appealing experience. I enjoy any opportunity to make personal finance more engaging through data visualization.
